Duncan Shadrack (Vocals, Acoustic Guitar) Print E-mail

Duncan Shadrack - Acoustic Guitar and VocalsDuncan Shadrack was born into a military family at a base in Verdun, France and has lived throughout the world. His roots, however, remain with his family in the small town of Spring City, Tennessee. Like his father, Duncan joined the U.S. Army out of high school where he served as a Military Police Officer. After his tour of duty, he continued his law enforcement career as a Police Officer and Detective in Washington State.

Music and performing have always been in Duncan's blood. He began writing and performing his music as a child and hasn't stopped since. What began as singing in church and school choirs grew into his passion for music and performing. He joined a traveling jazz choir, lead singer in a barbershop quartet and was a vocalist in a funk band. Through all this, Duncan held on to his roots in country music and his love for writing found a home when he created the band "Shadrack".

Duncan has opened for Nashville Recording Artist Lila McCann and country singer Billy Ray Cyrus. He has had the honor of performing the National Anthem at the Seattle Seahawks game during the nationally televised pre-game ceremony honoring those killed and injured in the September 11th Terrorist Attacks. He also has performed on several occasions for the Seattle Mariners.

Duncan feels blessed in life and thankful for the wonderful people who support him and his music.

Jim Donahue (Drums) Print E-mail

Jim Donahue - DrumsJim started playing the drums in 1967 thanks to his cousin Lowell. After playing in neighborhood bands, Jim started with a band by the name of High Yield when he was in high school. That band saw most of the corners of Washington and everywhere in between in two years.

After getting married, he kept up playing as much as possible with bands like The Authentics and James Street. He also had a twenty year stint playing bass for a christian group called One Voice. Then, while getting his car worked on at a local garage/recording studio, he was asked if he would like to play country and was soon introduced to Duncan Shadrack in 2001.

While working on and off for Duncan, Jim hooked up with Joe Slick and the rest is history. This has given him the opportunity to open for Billy Ray Cyrus, Sammy Kershaw and many more. He is looking forward to the blending of his two buddies to be part of a great music experience.

 Johnny Ummel (Pedal Steel, Fiddle)

Johnny says "I am a native Washintonian but my grandad in Lubbock, Texas was an old-time fiddle player and gave me a fiddle when I was 7, I still have it. I graduated high school and went to college just long enough to know that what I wanted to do was play music.I wound up in Spokane playing in a country rock band called Saloony Toons.

I really loved playing music. I had taken up the pedal steel guitar in addition to guitar and fiddle. I found my services in demand from various country and country rock bands over the next several years. In the early eighties I was offered the job playing steel with Gerry Andal's Roughrider Band, a position I would hold for the next 15 years. This was really a great time filled with great opportunities.

After having played full time, 5 or 6 nights a week, for more than 20 years, I decided to put music on the back burner for a while. I studied electronics and have worked for several years in that field. But someone once told me that music is in my blood and that can't change. I guess she was right because I am having a blast playing with Joe & Duncan & the guys, I still love playing music."
